Strengthening AAHP Behind the Scenes: A Year of Transition and Partnership
As we wrap up 2025 and look forward to a bright new year, we would like to offer members a closer look at the important work that has taken place behind the scenes to support AAHP’s expanded partnership with The Markens Group (TMG). While you may have already read our broad update, the depth of collaboration behind this transition deserves its own spotlight. This year has marked a turning point for AAHP, one that honors our past while building a stronger foundation for the future.
A Smooth and Thoughtful Financial Transition
One of the major efforts this year has been refreshing and strengthening AAHP’s financial systems. Working closely with TMG, we opened a new bank account, transitioned to updated banking arrangements, and improved internal processes to support greater clarity and efficiency. While much of this work was intricate and detail-heavy, the goal was simple: to ensure smooth, consistent operations and a more streamlined experience for members, especially as we prepared for the upcoming dues cycle.
Partnering with TMG and a bank that understands associations also supports our fiduciary responsibility by helping us build strategic relationships, including introductions to nonprofit-focused wealth management advisors, so we can make thoughtful decisions about reserves and investment dollars. We also value the additional checks and balances that come with TMG’s accreditation standards, which strengthen our governance in ways we have not always been able to fully leverage as a volunteer- led organization. We are especially grateful to our Treasurer, Mary Bornemann, for leading these efforts and for the time she has dedicated to this important work. Thanks to these efforts, AAHP enters 2026 with a more modern, more stable foundation for its financial management.
Welcoming TMG as AAHP’s New Headquarters
Another significant step forward this year has been the work towards transitioning AAHP’s headquarters to TMG. This included establishing our new mailing address and phone line, centralizing day-to-day communications, and organizing key records and administrative functions. Having a dedicated, fully staffed headquarters strengthens AAHP’s operational foundation. . Members can expect clear communication, faster response times, and a centralized point of contact for association business.
Supporting the Transition of Eric Foxman’s Responsibilities
With the upcoming retirement of Eric Foxman, who has served AAHP for more than 40 years, this year has also focused heavily on preparing for the thoughtful transfer of his responsibilities. Eric and TMG have worked closely together to document processes, review historical materials, and ensure continuity in the functions he has long managed. This collaboration helps preserve AAHP’s institutional memory while ensuring a seamless handoff, allowing essential duties to continue uninterrupted. Just as importantly, it positions AAHP to carry forward the lessons and history Eric stewarded so well and apply them in a way that supports the next decade of growth and service.
We are deeply grateful for Eric’s guidance and steady leadership during this transition.
Continuing and Enhancing AAHP’s Communications Work
TMG has continued to support AAHP’s marketing and communications activities. This includes producing our monthly newsletter, coordinating member updates, supporting social media engagement, and refreshing website content. Maintaining this consistency has helped AAHP stay connected, visible, and engaged during a year of change.
A Strong Partnership for the Road Ahead
Although much of this work has taken place quietly behind the scenes, it reflects the strength of AAHP’s partnership with TMG. Their support has helped AAHP modernize internal systems, enhance communication, and build operational resilience, all while preparing for Eric’s transition and the next chapter of AAHP’s leadership. This carefully coordinated effort ensures that AAHP is well-positioned to continue serving its members and advocating for the homeopathic industry with confidence and stability.
We extend our sincere thanks to TMG, our Board, and Eric for the time, guidance, and dedication they have poured into this transition. What began as a necessary shift has grown into a strong partnership that will support AAHP for many years to come. As we enter a new year, we look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to provide meaningful value to our members.
